Provide senior-level specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for adults with substance use disorders and complex co-morbid presentations (e.g., trauma, severe mood/anxiety disorders, personality difficulties, neurodevelopmental needs where relevant).
Lead the delivery and quality assurance of individual and group psychological interventions across the detox and residential programme (e.g., CBT/DBT-informed, relapse prevention, motivational approaches), ensuring fidelity, safety, and clinical effectiveness.
Provide clinical leadership within the MDT: offer consultation on complex cases, contribute to risk formulation and management planning, and support coordinated care pathways (admission, stabilisation, rehabilitation, discharge and aftercare).
Provide specialist psychological input to safeguarding, self-harm/suicide risk, capacity-related issues, and high-risk clinical decision-making, in line with legal/ethical frameworks and organisational policy.
Produce high-quality, defensible clinical documentation, reports, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders, consistent with international standards (e.g., HCPC) and information governance.
Provide supervision and mentoring to junior psychologists/trainees and other psychologically informed roles, supporting reflective practice and professional development.
Lead and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement activity (audit, outcomes, incident learning), using data to improve service performance and patient experience.
Contribute to service development: support pathway design, group programme development, staff training, and implementation of evidence-based practice across the service.
• Maintain continued professional development and ensure practice remains current, ethical, culturally responsive, and aligned with international standards of conduct, performance and ethics (e.g., HCPC).
